"The Art and Cultural Trust of India” has the pleasure to announce its first International Music & Dance Festival 2017 in India. A series of performances across India will feature musicians and dancers from across the globe who study classical Indian music and dance. Your efforts to learn about our cultural heritage are appreciated, and you are invited to apply for a position in our festival.
The Trust is a non-profit organization promoting a series of concerts of Indian classical music and dance between 15th December 2017 to 15th January 2018. Foreign Citizen artists who perform Indian classical music and dance will be featured in these concerts. Cities tentatively included in the tour are Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Ranchi, Kolkata, Odisha, and Chennai. The complete itinerary will be finalized over the next few months.
In the sphere of music, "The Art and Cultural Trust of India " has encouraged Indian musicians to develop their skills and provided a platform for them to gain recognition for their work. Through sponsoring annual music and dance festivals, the AACTI has featured known and upcoming artists on the national and international stage and has lent its institutional support to the popularization of the fine traditions of Hindustani and Karnatic classical music and dance. The Trust now intends to extend this support to Foreign Citizen artists who focus on classical Indian music.
Participating foreign citizen artists will share their experiences and promote cross-cultural collaborations and insights with local Indian audiences and artists.
Arrangements provided to participants:
1-Invitation Letter:
Accepted artists will receive an official invitation letter which may be used to solicit sponsorships. The letter will include a description of benefits to sponsors for supporting artists in the AACTI tour.
2-Flight Tickets
The AACTI Management Group will cover one way economy class flight tickets for selected artists between their home countries and Delhi but all expenses cover for flights/Train between performance cities in India.
3- Accommodations and meals
The AACTI Management Group will cover accommodations and meals for selected artists. Lodging will include the guest house at the Ashram in Delhi or Hotel, with accommodations in other cities to be determined in the next few months. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided to participants throughout the tour.
4-Ground Transportation:
The AACTI Management Group will cover ground transportation as needed to participate in the tour, such as between airports and lodging, and to and from concerts, meals, shopping, and site-seeing.
5-Publications:
The AACTI Management Group will cover publications and marketing materials of program booklets, posters, flyers for the festival, etc. Participating groups will be required to send relevant materials to include in publications such as abstracts, photos, bios, press releases, and so on.
6-Theatre and Technical Staff:
The AACTI Management Group will provide the hall for rehearsal on the same day of the performance, and technical assistance such as sound and lights.
7-Festival Pass:
Each performer will receive a festival pass in order to attend the event.
8-Visa:
The AACTI Management Group will provide a support letter upon request for participants to obtain a visa to attend the Festival.
9-Documentary:
The AACTI Management Group will produce a documentary Film in DVD format documenting the Festival.
10-Participation Certificate :
Each participating artist will receive a participation certificate.
11- Local sight seeing
Artists will have time for visiting famous sites near each venue, along with shopping for Indian goods. Opportunities to interact with local musicians and instrument-makers may also be provided in some cities. Any costs for entry fees, lessons, or purchase of instruments or other goods must be covered by the participating artist.
Open Call for Performers
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to send us your most recent copies of audio-visual DVD, Youtube extract links, or websites as samples of your latest performances. Videos must include audio that clearly demonstrates each artists’ skills and understanding of classical Indian music or dance.
The last day for open call for performers is 15th, JUNE, 2017
